Friends of Huntsville Animal Services Page Liked February 22 D34 - ID# 441249 Female Yellow Lab, 2 years old SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS ANIMAL, PLEASE CONTACT 256-883-3783 with the animal identification number provided. Huntsville Animal Services 4950 Triana Blvd Huntsville, AL 35805 PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT INFO BELOW (your question may be answered here) This page is largely volunteer operated. We use our own time to visit the shelter, take pictures and post them to this page. With that said, the above information may be the only information we have available for this animal as we do not like to get in the ... (Read More)way of the shelter staff to ask a lot of questions on every single animal. Please know that a high percentage of animals in the shelter are brought in as strays. It is impossible to know anything about a stray animal and many times we can only make our best educated guess on breeds, age, etc. Every dog you see posted here has passed a general temperament test as performed by shelter staff and it is considered to be non-aggressive toward adults. As far as child or cat aggression, that is not a standard test that can be performed on every animal. If you are concerned about either aggression, it is suggested that you visit the shelter in person and ask a shelter attendant for assistance. We do allow you to bring pets in to see if they get along before adopting, and if you elect to do so, make sure your pet(s) are COMPLETELY up to date on vaccinations, especially bordatella (kennel cough). ADOPTION FEES Cats seven months and older are currently $35 as a special Spring and Summer promotion that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Kittens six months and younger are $80. Dogs are $80 to $170 and includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. LICENSE FEES $35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee PER CITY ORDINANCE, DOMESTIC ANIMALS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CITY LICENSE TAG WHILE RESIDING IN THE CITY LIMITS OF HUNTSVILLE. It is recommended and the responsibility of the adopter to put their new pet on their choice of heart worm and flea/tick prevention within 30 days of adoption in order to ensure a happy and healthy pet. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS ABOUT THIS ANIMAL, PLEASE CALL OR VISIT THE SHELTER. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-01-00299Macy (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive,
 Abused/Neglected

Macy has escaped being put down twice at two different facilities. At the second one she gave birth to 7 wonderful puppies hours before being put to sleep which gave me time to save her and her puppies from being put to sleep. Now all of the puppies are in wonderful homes and now it's mamas turn. She's extremely sweet and loving and great with my current dogs but she isn't good with cats. She is up to date on vaccines and spayed. She is kennel and house trained and walks great on a leash. She has clearly been abused and was a skeleton when I got her but she now is in excellent health and ready for her forever home. Please contact me if you ... (Read More)are interested! (Less)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Black may have the hangdog hound dog look down pat- he is using those floppy ears and soulful gaze to convince you to come meet him and bring him home as a new family member-seat on the couch included! Black is an older fella, around 5.5 to 6 years old we think, and definitely has some black and tan coonhound, basset hound, and black lab mix in him. He is already neutered and ready to be adopted-he is available for our $30 adoption fee.
