|Rescue Me ID: 16-04-02-00054Bullet (male)|
Bullet is a 2 year old Beagle/ Basset/ Feist mix that is a true hound and he loves to track. He weighs 41 lbs. Bullet is very sweet and is great with other animals and kids! He was brought to the rescue when he was about to be put down at a local shelter. He came to them with 2 gun shot wounds to his legs that luckily went all the way through with no damage to the bones. He has healed very well! He is fully vaccinated but is heartworm positive and will need treatment. He has been neutered and is ready to go to a new home where he can get plenty of love! His adoption fee is $125.

|Rescue Me ID: 15-01-01-00358Olivia (female)|
Some dogs are better at giving puppy eyes than the rest. Olivia excels at giving sad puppy eyes and is using them in full force in this photo to ask you if you need a new family member from Second Chance Shelter in Boaz, AL. She is a loving black lab/basset mix, already spayed, UTD with her rabies vaccine and promises not to turn on the puppy eyes when she wants a treat... She is available for adoption for our $40 adoption fee.

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
