Hello, my name is Camden. I am a happy go lucky male Beagle that is about one year old and given my long floppy ears, I may have a mix of Basset Hound in me. I am 35 lbs, neutered and healthy. I am very fun loving, friendly, and enjoy spending lots of time with you . I love to play with toys, especially balls. I am super good with kids and other dogs. Most of the time I am high energy, but I also love to lay by your side or nap in my bed. I am cage trained and potty trained. I need some work with more detailed training, but I am learning sit and lay down. I love to go for walks and am good on a leash. I would be perfect in a home ...     Hello! My name is Sweet Pea and I live up to my name, I am SWEET! I was saved from a shelter in Alabama and brought to Illinois with my 3 puppies. I am a very young mom at about 1 1/2 years old. I weigh about 25 lbs. The vets and my foster mom think that I am a Beagle maybe mixed with Bassett Hound on account of my short legs, long body, and that my nose is always to the ground outside. I may have some Terrier in my too. I do have a bit of a bark or howl but only when someone comes to the door or when I see something outside. I enjoy going for several walks a day and do well on my harness and leash. I am VERY shy when out in public, so I ... (Read More)will need parents that understand that I have been through a lot in the last few months and I just need patience and a gentle hand. I am an absolute love bug, I love to be pet and sit close to my human friends. I have quite the funny personality and I love to show it. I enjoy rolling around upside down on the floor and making funny noises. I live with several small dogs in my foster home and I do fine with all of them. There are also cats here and I find them interesting. I have chased them, but I am learning that cats are NOT for me to chew on! I like older children as long as they understand that it may take me a bit to warm up to them. I enjoy playing with dog toys, and I like sturdy toys and bones to keep me busy during the day. I am housebroken and I am crate trained, although I would prefer to have someone who is home most of the day to keep me company. I do sleep through the night in my crate, but I would prefer to sleep in my new parent's bed! If you'd like to add a cute, sweet, girl to your family, that's me! **As a side note from the foster mom, please understand that while Pea is an awesome dog in my home, she gets VERY nervous in the car, in new places, and around new people. The best option for her may be a private meet and greet. It will take her time to warm up to a new family, new home, and new surroundings. That being said, if you are patient, the benefits of waiting for this girl to come around will be beyond your best expectations! She is an amazing dog who has brought a lot of joy to my life in the past 2 months. I am confident that she will bring that joy to her new home, given the time she needs to trust someone new.** Sweet Pea's adoption fee is $295 and includes her shots, rabies vaccination, fecal test, deworming, micro chipping, spay, HW preventative, frontline, 30 days of shelter care insurance, and her first vet visit at one of our participating vets, Please email Kathy for an adoption application safehavendogs@yahoo.com. Your entire family must be present if you would like to make Sweet Pea part of your family. Our goal is to ensure that Sweet Pea is a good fit for your family and that you are a good fit for Sweet Pea. (Less)
