Rescue Me ID: 16-06-02-00206Daisy (female)
Daisy is one of our newest nursing mom's. She gave birth on 04/18. Her puppies will be available for adoption after June 13th. We are not 100% sure of mom's mix or what dad was. Mom looks like a Basset Hound/German Shep mix We think the puppies could be medium sized dogs or larger. Daisy does need to have FHO surgery to correct a small issue with her back left leg. We have been walking her around with other dogs at the adoption center and is doing well. She has been through a lot and we are looking for a foster home for just her to recover from surgery in. The stress of the puppies and her painful hip has taken a toll on her. She deserves a home to recover in. While recovering from her surgery, ATTR will cover all costs. We will not accept adoption applications on the puppies. They can be viewed in the adoption centers after they are 8 weeks old. We will accept applications on mom now but she will not be seen until after she is done nursing. Alsip To The Rescue (ATTR) strives as a rescue to make sure that when our adopters take home their new rescue they feel they have the support and access to all resources which ATTR can provide. If you want to learn how you can set your new rescue up to succeed and blend in with your family come to our Meet The Trainer sessions each weekend. We will give you tips on what to do when you first bring home a new rescue. Saturday at Noon in St John and Sunday at Noon in Frankfort are free Meet The Trainer sessions with more free sessions to be added during the week soon. Fill out an application in the Get Involved section to meet our rescues. www.alsiptotherescue.org! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-28-00216Bronx (male)
Bronx was born on 02/14/10. Bronx is a laid back dog and very eager to please. He is good around all ages of kids and adults, as well as other animals. He is completely potty trained. He is used to sleeping in a crate, but also loves to sleep on the foot of the bed or between his owners and the door. He weighs 30 pounds and is pure muscle. He is very gentle especially around small children and babies. He is very affectionate and is always eager to please his owners. He is very praise motivated, as most dogs are motivated by treats.

Animal ID: ToddyToddy (male)
Toddy is the best dog around you could have. He is very well behaved, listens well, does not get into stuff, house and crate trained. He loves car rides and long walks. Can be playful but calms down quickly. He is vocal and talks to you when you come home and asks for permission to get onto furniture. Wouldn't you love to bring this handsome boy home

PIease Read Before Adopting a Basset Hound in Indiana
Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
