Sylvester is an aprox. 9 year old male lab mix. He is a goofy looking boy with a long body and short legs. He can be a grumpy boy so would be best in a home without small children. He is very sweet and likes to be pet, but isn't one to be smothered. This sweet old guy just needs a nice place to lay his head. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adoption fee is waived for Sylvester. Can you find it in your home as well as your heart to open a spot for this senior?

|Rescue Me ID: 16-01-15-00612Badger (male)|
Meet Badger. This cutie is about 3 years old. He is an adorable mix of what we suspect is basset hound and pit/lab. Adorable is probably an understatement, and his personality is just as cute. Badger is super silly and happy to meet new people. He does jump some initially, but he quickly calms down. He loves to play and to be active, but he knows when enough is enough. He is calm and quiet when he needs to be. Badger is good with other animals who aren't tiny and furry, like rabbits, squirrels, or things that could be mistaken for rabbits and squirrels. He is good with kids, but of course they should be prepared for a short-legged meat brick who can jump. We think due to Badger's desire to shake the small, fuzzy creatures, cats are out. Badger is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is solidly housebroken and doesn't really need a crate. He does use one when he is waiting for his bath after muddy outside time. Otherwise, he is a trustworthy guy. If you are interested in Badger, please fill out an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. This is the first step of the adoption process. If you have any questions, please find us on Facebook or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org Badger's adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rockie is a happy, 1 1/2 yr old, 30 lb Bassett/Terrier mix. He is house-trained and good with other dogs, He takes a while to warm up to new people and new dogs. Don't judge him by the first time you meet him. He can seem very standoffish at first but his foster family said after just a few weeks he became quite affectionate and would love to snuggle up on the couch with them. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, wormed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150. Please email for an application. email@example.com

|Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00157Urgent - Honey Bee (female)|
We have another hound baby still in need. She is still looking for a forever home. She needs a fenced yard without cats. She would also prefer a canine buddy, and needs a very patient new mom and dad. Honey Bee is perfect, but transition is very hard for her. She struggles for the first few days before she settles down and becomes the wonderful dog her foster mom knows and loves. We are urgently looking for a loving home for Honey Bee, because her foster mom's time to be able to keep her is coming to an end. If you are truly interested in rescuing a wonderful dog, then Honey Bee may be your girl. Honey Bee is a beautiful and incredibly loving basset/coonhound mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds. She is about 2 years if we take a guess. She was a stray who was never claimed, so a guess is all we can do. Honey Bee is very playful and loves to be active. She likes walks and is learning to not tug as much; the progress has been great. Honey has lived with dogs in foster homes and has done GREAT. She loves to run, play and wrestle with them. She does not do well with cats. It's more than just chasing, and we are concerned for the safety of any cat in her path. Honey Bee does GREAT with children of all ages. Honey Bee is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is housebroken and crate trained. We do recommend crating Honey Bee when she is left unsupervised due to her curious hound nose. If you would like to meet Honey Bee or if you have any questions, please send us a private message on Facebook, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or fill out an application at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Basset Hound in Indiana|
Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
