We have another hound baby still in need. Remember Honey Bee? She is still looking for a forever home. She needs a fenced yard without cats. She would also prefer a canine buddy, but it isn't necessarily a requirement int he right home. Honey Bee is a beautiful and incredibly loving basset/coonhound mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds. She is about 2 years if we take a guess. She was a stray who was never claimed, so a guess is all we can do. Honey Bee is very playful and loves to be active. She likes walks and is learning to not tug as much; the progress has been great. Honey has lived with dogs in foster homes and has done GREAT. She loves to run, play and wrestle with them. She does not do well with cats. It's more than just chasing, and we are concerned for the safety of any cat in her path. Honey Bee does GREAT with children of all ages. Honey Bee is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is housebroken and crate trained. We do recommend crating Honey Bee when she is left unsupervised due to her curious hound nose. If you would like to meet Honey Bee or if you have any questions, please send us a private message. This is the best dog you will ever have. She is very special. Housetrained, she is heartworm pos and is currently on the slow treatment. She loves everyone, very sweet. Has a very soft coat. She is an older dog but still act like a puppy. Got a lot of good years left . Open your heart and home to this baby.

Otis is a very gentle and submissive dog. He is just too much for us to handle right now. He is crate trained but not house trained and we aren't home enough to be good for him. His crate will go with him as well as the pad and blanket for it. He would do great in a home that has a dog door - where he can go out when needed. We rescued him two years ago from a couple that was taking him to the pound. He has been abused in the past. He is very timid when there is yelling around him.

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
