Please read entire description. Zander's adoption fee is $150. Please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Zander is a 6 year old, 45 pound, Basset / Lab mix sometimes called a Bassador. His short legs and long body look Basset, everything else resembles lab. Zander is a pretty easy going guy. He likes walks, lounging around, and taking naps. Zander is crate trained and house trained. He has been good with dogs and cats in the past. He sometimes chases kitties that run from him, but he would never hurt them. Zander has been good with children in the past. We feel older children would be best. Zander is looking for a new home since he was owner surrendered due to some unstable housing issues. He was moving place to place and Zander deserves some stability. Zander is not a fan of the vet and will likely need to be muzzled during parts of his future exams and vetting. We can't blame him, we don't like getting shots either. Zander is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in meeting Zander, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
