Rescue Me ID: 17-04-10-00514Grandma Gator (female)

Basset Hound    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Gator. Before we all start jumping to conclusions, this pretty face belongs to a girl. Yes, Gator the girl. She is an 8-year-old basset hound who is super duper sweet and everything everyone loves about bassets. She is friendly, happy, and good-natured with a pinch of mischief mixed in for fun. Gator's family moved and couldn't take her with; that is why she is searching for a forever home. Gator gets along with dogs and has lived with other canines--everyone got along swimmingly. Until recently she had never met a cat. When she got too close, the cat swatted her and now he is absolutely terrified of kitties. she will hide if she sees ... (Read More)one coming. Gator is fine with kids, but we recommend older kids who will be careful about food in their hands. Being a hound, Gator loves food and will snatch food that is not being monitored. We don't want to see any little fingers getting in the way. Gator would do best in a fenced yard where she will have ample opportunity to walk around, sniff, and explore while being safely confined. She enjoys going for walks and walks well on leash with an gentle leader otherwise she is a bit of a tugger. Gator also loves going for car rides. She has great house manners except if the trash is within reach--typical hound! Gator is spayed up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is solidly housebroken and well behaved in her crate. If you would like to meet Gator, please complete an application in the link below. Please include any questions directly on the application. After we review applications we will arrange a meet and greet. Gator's adoption fee is $150. http://www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-31-00307Ooma (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ooma. This 6-year-old coonhound/bassett mix is beyond adorable and so ultra sweet. She is gentle, loving and great companion. Although Ooma loves to go for walks, she would do best with a fenced in yard to help her get enough exercise while keep her safe. Ooma is very friendly with everyone and everything. She has lived with cats and has done great. Her former kitten friend was also a great snuggle buddy. Ooma is also very excited to meet new dogs. She is quite the social butterfly. Omma has lived with children of various ages and has done great--even with toddlers. Omma would like a home that can offer her walks and cuddle time in ... (Read More)equal amounts. She is a 60-pound snuggle buddy. Ooma knows a couple of commands and has come a long way since being adopted a year ago. We are guessing that she didn't have the most stellar beginning at life because too much chaos, loud noises or harsh voices make her pretty nervous. She is doing much better being out and about in public places these days. She has learned that these places give her a lot of attention, and of course she is on board with that. Ooma is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is also housebroken and crate trained. In fact she likes to have her crate door open so that she can retreat to it whenever she needs a safe place. If you would like to meet Ooma please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

For the most part she is fine with them unless they are getting attention and she is not. Chewy likes to sleep under your covers and will not give up unless you allow her to hop in the covers with you. Chewy recently had puppies and has just finished nursing so she is ready for her forever home.

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-04-00288Haley (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Haley is an adorable 6-7 year old pointer/Bassett hound mix. She has the cutest long body and short, stumpy legs-She truly is the cutest mix ever! Haley came to be a Waldo's dog, along with her friend Blue, after their long-time owner died. It is not a requirement that Blue and Haley be adopted into the same home but if you want to adopt both that would be great! Haley loves human attention, loves to be petted, loves to give kisses, and loves to snuggle with her foster mom. She is always ready to greet you with a tail wag when she sees you. Haley is good with other dogs, although she can be iffy at times with other dominant females but ... (Read More)she's easily redirected. She is housebroken, walks great on a leash and is learning to play! She loves to lounge around on her doggie bed and chew on antlers. We would love Haley to be adopted with Blue but they can be separated and do just fine. Haley is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs and she fits right in to the pack. Haley's foster mom absolutely adores her and thinks she's the cutest, sweetest girl ever! Haley is spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW negative and on monthly hw/flea preventative. Haley would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time and we would recommend a home without small children. If you are looking for a goofy gal that will always bring a smile to your face, Haley is the one! Adoption fee $150 Due to the high volume of emails received, we recommend you visit our website and fill out an adoption application. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! (Less)
