Foster or Adopter needed. Please read entire description. Tank's adoption fee is $125. If you are interested in Tank, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Meet Tank. This chubby boy is a 6 year old Basset Hound Mix. He could stand to lose a few pounds and currently weighs in at almost 75 pounds. He is in desperate need of a new home due to some life changes that has left him for long hours in his crate. Tank is very comfortable in his crate. He is also house trained. He LOVES to be with his people and is generally very good company for someone that wants an easy going, loyal companion. He prefers to sleep on a pet bed near your bed and on the couch next to you during down time. Tank is a very social pup. Tank does well with other calm dogs and prefers dogs size medium and up. He is a co-exister and doesn't prefer playing. We feel he may prefer to be the only dog in the home, but can tolerate other dogs on a limited basis. He gets a bit stressed around anything hyper which is why we suggest older children who know how to be gentle and appropriate with dogs. Tank is indifferent to cats and can also co-exist with them. Tank is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are interested in giving this pup a great home, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Tank's adoption fee is $125. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-10-20-00063Bear (male)|
Meet Bear! Bear was originally adopted out as a puppy in 2016 but was recently returned by his owner when she said she couldn't care for him. We believe he is a basset/lab mix. He is around 2 years old. Bear is a mellow, low key fella and likes to just hang out and relax. Bear prefers women over men, but does do well with both. Bear gets along with all dogs at the sanctuary. If he gets scared or 'over it' he simply walks away. He prefers calmer dogs. He does well with cats, with a proper introduction. No kids for this fella. Bear is house and crate trained, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Bear needs a fenced in yard. Adoption fee $150 Last updated 3/2/18 Interested in this dog/cat? Please complete an adoption form from our website www.animalhousesanctuary.org and email to AHSAdopt@gmail.com. If you have any questions you can e-mail us at email@example.com. If the dog/cat is still posted as adoptable it means they are still available and no adoptions have been finalized. If you are interested in adopting this dog/cat please complete an application. Thank you. We do not have open visiting hours and go by appointment only after we have an approved application. Thank you. (Less)

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
