I'm looking to find a forever home for my 4 year old beagle/basset hounds. I have one boy and one girl. I would like to rehome them together as they are brother and sister and are a bonded pair. The boy would make a great hunting dog, he loves being outside, running in the woods and car rides. The girl is very sweet and loves to be cuddled and held. She is scared of loud noises (thunder, fireworks, gun shots, etc) and would have to be an inside/outside home situation. They would be happiest on a farm, or somewhere with land. There is no rehoming fee as long as we can bring the dogs to you to verify that you have a large fenced in yard at the ... (Read More)very least. Please feel free to call or text anytime for more info or pictures. 8128216033 (Less)

I'm looking to find a forever home for my 4 year old beagle/basset hounds. I love them to pieces and hate to give them up but my son with asthma has become allergic and my new home situation will leave them unhappy as there is no yard for them to run in. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-03-00182Makenzie (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Makenzie. This pretty girl is just as sweet as she in unique. She is a 2-year-old basset/pit mix, maybe a basspit hound. Get it? Makenzie can be a little shy at first and is generally submissive-- she rolls over and shows her belly to any person and any dog. She has NEVER been aggressive with anything, but does enjoy chasing cats. Makenzie had some slight physical developmental delays when she was a pup due to her needing casts on her front legs. During this critical time she wasn't able to be taken outside regularly for potty breaks. This put her behind the curve in terms of housetraining. She is doing much better these days, but ... (Read More)will have an occasional accident. This is probably her one and only flaw. Makenzie has been raised around other dogs. She does great with everyone of all sizes, but she would probably also be fine as an only pet. Makenzie is also sweet and gentle with kids. She may not love to be around a bunch of rowdy kids, but hanging out and being loved would be right up her alley. Makenzie is so loving and snuggly--all 58 pounds of her. The more love she cant get, the better. She knows some basic commands and does well on leash. She is super treat motivated and is ready to learn anything you teach her. Makenzie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She is well behaved in her crate and mostly housetrained (see note above). If you would like to offer Makenzie a forever home, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-31-00307Ooma (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ooma. This 6-year-old coonhound/bassett mix is beyond adorable and so ultra sweet. She is gentle, loving and great companion. Although Ooma loves to go for walks, she would do best with a fenced in yard to help her get enough exercise while keep her safe. Ooma is very friendly with everyone and everything. She has lived with cats and has done great. Her former kitten friend was also a great snuggle buddy. Ooma is also very excited to meet new dogs. She is quite the social butterfly. Omma has lived with children of various ages and has done great--even with toddlers. Omma would like a home that can offer her walks and cuddle time in ... (Read More)equal amounts. She is a 60-pound snuggle buddy. Ooma knows a couple of commands and has come a long way since being adopted a year ago. We are guessing that she didn't have the most stellar beginning at life because too much chaos, loud noises or harsh voices make her pretty nervous. She is doing much better being out and about in public places these days. She has learned that these places give her a lot of attention, and of course she is on board with that. Ooma is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is also housebroken and crate trained. In fact she likes to have her crate door open so that she can retreat to it whenever she needs a safe place. If you would like to meet Ooma please complete an adoption application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. Her adoption fee is $150. (Less)
