Rescue Me ID: 15-01-18-00086Daisy (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

We have a 7 year old Beagle mix, Daisy. She has been a very sweet and loving dog that we have had since she was a puppy. Unfortunately, we found out after we had our baby (who is now a toddler) that she is not good with small children. She is great with our nieces who are 9 and 11 but she is terrified of small children and will snap at them if she is cornered. Our daughter is VERY gentle but Daisy is still very scared of her.%A0 She would do amazing in a home without any other dogs and older or no children. She also seems to prefer women over men. So, ideally, she would go to the home of a single woman who has the time and energy to give ... (Read More)her. She loves to cuddle, lay on your lap or at your feet and LOVES long walks. Daisy is VERY obedient. She loves to please. She is also potty and crate trained. It absolutely breaks my heart to even write this but she would be much happier with a family or person that is better suited for her personality. Also, she is good with cats. Our cat and her love to chase each other around the house. P.S. Daisy is UTD on her shots, spayed, about 40 lbs, low to the ground (Bassett legs), and has a food allergy (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-28-00090Aunt Bea (female)

Basset Hound    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Aunt Bea is a wonderful dog my family adopted via craigslist a year ago. She has a great personality. She loves to be petted and to snuggle. She will sometimes run away from our large yard. My biggest problem is house training. She will not always wait to be taken out even when you are on your way to let her out. Maybe someone else could deal better with this. I was just not prepared to still be dealing with this after a year. She is a happy healthy dog. I am just not cut out to deal with the house training issues. I am in the process of getting her shots taken care of.

Hi, I'm Kendra. I was abandoned along with my sisters Kimmie (dog473) and Tori (dog474). Like my sisters, I'm a friendly dog and would make a good family pet. I don't know why we ended up here but at least now we have a chance to have what all dogs want - someone to love! Do you need someone to love you?

Approx DOB: 9/22/2006 Approx Wht: 53 lbs. $175 adoption fee includes a two week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Mary came to us from a rescue group in a small town. They were full and needed help. Mary was in a home for years then got returned to this rescue when the family dynamics changed. Mary is so gorgeous!!! She looks like a pure bred Basset Hound. Mary loves people, loves being petted, loves being near her people. However, Mary does NOT do well with other dogs or cats so she will need to be an only pet. She would not be a dog that you would take to the dog park or day care. Mary is in boarding waiting for a foster home to ... (Read More)become available so we don't know how house broke she might be. She keeps her area soil free and this is a great sign she would be house broke.......but we can't say for sure. Our 2 week trial helps families that are interested in adopting her find out how much if any retraining she might need. Mary is a scent dog and follows her nose, especially when walking on a leash....she tugs quite a bit and needs a no pull harness or obedience classes to help her and her new family.....they are both worth it. Mary is a Basset and will talk to you in her hound bay (bark) to let you know how she feels. If you are looking for a quiet furry kid she is not your girl.....if you are in love with the Basset bay then Mary is your furry kid......just give her a chance. Mary is going to make some family a wonderful companion. Mary has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Mary, please complete the adoption application located at and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. (Less)
