She wasn't able to find me a home and no other family would let me live out my years with them. Luckily my rescue stepped up and took me in. And a pretty awesome girl and would love to have a furever home to spend the rest of my life. I'm also heartworm negative and on prevention!

Tebow was adopted from Georgia. Tebow is crate trained, broken of barking and gets along with dogs and cats. He loves kids and both men and women, however, he is a little weary at first until he gets to know you. He loves to snuggle and play. He seems to be a mix with bassett as his coat is longer hair. He needs to be with dogs his age to play with and loves walks. Serious inquiries only- owner has allergies and needs to find him a forever home.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-01-12-00253Elmo (male)|
Elmo is a 6 year old Black Lab mix. Elmo has spent his whole life outside in a 10x01 kennel. When he came into foster he had never been inside a house. He has spent the few months just learning how to be a pet. He was very comfortable out in my fenced yard but would freak out in the house. He was afraid of everything inside. I had to actually go outside and leash him and dragged him in. Then it started to get cold and he finally decided that sleeping inside wasn't so bad. He will now come in when called and actually comes to the door and comes in own his own. Elmo has never gotten on any of my furniture or chewed up anything. He has been the perfect house guest. He has discovered the big fluffy dog beds that appears just before bedtime each night and boy has he become really fond of them. Elmo had never when for drive in the car and getting him in was quite a nightmare. We have been working on this for sometime now and he doesn't mind riding and is okay once he's in the car but is still a little hesitant about getting in. Elmo hadn't had much leash training and at first walked in 10 foot circles. Guess he was just so used to only having 10 foot to walk before turning the corner in the kennel. He is doing really good on leash. Does still pull a little but is doing better every time he's leashed. Elmo will come up to be petted but is not a real snuggy huggy kinda fellow. He is very loyal and will be right there with you and I'm sure with some time and patience he could become a snuggle bug. Elmo graduated from the 'New Leash on Life' program at the local prison where he spent 8 weeks being trained. He knows sit and stay really well. Elmo is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on prevention. Adoption Fee $150.00 (Less)

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
