Animal ID: 1151Max (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey there, the name is Max. I'm a two year old American Staffordshire Terrier/ Basset hound mix. I know... it's an odd combination. But then again, I'm not your everyday shelter pup, either. At 85 pounds, calling me a big boy would be an understatement, but I'm a gentle giant. I crave human attention and am more than happy to roll over for a belly rub! I walk very well on a leash after my initial excitement, and I come when I'm called. I never fail to prove the pitbull stereotype wrong with my gentle demeanor (giving kisses is my favorite thing to do!) I am already up to date on all my vaccinations and am already fixed- I can even sit on ... (Read More)command! I've been told that I'm a very handsome boy, too. I have floppy ears that bounce up and down when I run, droopy jowls, and rather short legs that turn outward (hence the Basset Hound identification.) It seems that my body is a bit out of proportion, only adding to my charm. My head looks as if it is too big for my long body and short legs. If you've been searching for a good-lookin' fella with a cheerful and laid back personality, look no farther! I'm more than ready to brighten your day, and even better, come home with you! (Less)

 Fearful/Anxious

Est DOB: 2/1/15 Weight: 43 lbs Goldie is a beautiful female golden retriever/ Basset mix. She is extremely loving even though we suspect she was abused. Animal ID: DoogieDoogie (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

Est DOB: 10/1/12 Weight: 46 lbs If you love Bassets, then you will love Mr. Doogie and his deep bark, plus his crooked fat front feet. Doogie is 46 pounds of playfulness. His favorite toy is a big red Jolly Ball because he loves to toss and throw it. Doogie can be a little rough while playing, so older children would be better playmates for him. He is leash and crate trained. Doogie would be best as the only dog because of his rough playing. Now he does love to dig and bury his toys, then go back and check on it over and over. We try to limit our travel time for home visits to a two-hour driving range (about 75 miles) from Morganton, NC. ...
