|Rescue Me ID: 16-01-25-00772Ringo (male)|
Ringo is a wonderful, mellow 8-yo beagle-man looking for a relatively quiet home to retire and be adored in, having already made his contribution via bio-medical research. Ringo has truly been low-maintenance in his foster home. He is quite content to find a nice comfortable spot on a chair or couch and observe life from there if his human(s) is/are busy, and to snuggle if anyone should sit down. He is housetrained to a doggie-door, quiet in his crate. He needs some work on leash-walking just because he is so quiet, 'surprises' (like trash-trucks, kids on bicycles zipping by, that sort of thing), on walks make him very nervous. Ringo could be an only-dog or share a home with other dogs and/or cats. He doesn't pay much attention to the cats in his foster home, but he does show them respect if they are near one-another. Overall, Ringo is a great candidate for someone who is looking for a low-key boy who will adore them. All he asks in return is for them to adore, snuggle and provide copious belly-rubs and ear-scritches to him. |Rescue Me ID: 15-04-06-00617Colt (male)|
My name is Colt, but I'm called Brownie. I'm a little over a year old. People make all kinds of guesses as to what I'm mixed with... I've heard Staffordshire Terrier, Pittie, Basset Hound, Boxer... you name it! We're not sure what's in my DNA, but I am a sweet boy with a long body and shorter legs with big feet. I love to play with the dogs in my foster home and my foster parents too. I love to go for walks, chew bones, play fetch and snuggle on the couch. I am quiet in my crate and sleep in there all night. I am crate trained and house trained. My foster mom is even working on letting me out of my crate when they aren't home and I've done great for up to 4 hours so far! I am a bit shy and timid with people at first but I have come a long way with trusting people. I love other dogs and gain confidence and learn how to play from watching them. So, my foster mom is only considering applicants with a canine playmate for me. I prance and hop while I play. I don't mind sharing a home with cats either! If you have kids, a home with children older than 10 who can show a little patience and gentleness with me while I settle in would be best. You can come meet me at upcoming meet and greets, but where you really get to see my playful personality in after I'm comfortable with my foster siblings at home. Arrange to meet me if you think I'm the right guy for your family. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-03-23-00123Gracie (female)|
Gracie is a young basset hound mix. She is a hearty eater, but because she isn't very active in the house, she has gained weight and is somewhat overweight. In order to prevent back or leg problems, she must have regular exercise. She has a great deal of endurance, so she enjoys taking long walks.Patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to training Gracie. Unless you can persuade her that it's something she wants to do, she can be stubborn and difficult to train. But...if you are up to the challenge and have or would like to have a daily exercise regimen, Gracie may just be the girl for you.

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
