Believed to be part pit bull, part bassett hound. This guy needs a good home with a secure fence, and tie. We found him running around with a collar, no tags, no microchip. We believe he was neglected, or abandoned. He is good at getting out of fences. He's brown with pink nose, a white stripe on his nose, and white paws. I have not heard him bark once. I don't know much about him yet because we've only had him 1 day. I don't know yet if he's good around other dogs, or children. He is quiet and likes to sleep and chew his bone. We gave him a bath and he did good- stayed calm. Photo will be posted soon. Please contact me if you can foster him ... (Read More)or provide him a good, safe home. (Less)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sable is an owner surrender by an elderly gentleman who had to part with Sable and two other adult dogs because he was going to a nursing home. When he told us that Sable was a lab/basset mix, you just have to - well, say ok. Her fur is very thick and slightly coarse. She did test positive for heartworms. So the patches you see on her side are from her heartworm treatment which she came thru with absolutely no problems. Just that the fur is growing back very slowly. She is not an in your face type of dog however she still enjoys attention. She seems to have the personality of a cat. She is ok with other dogs however she does tend to mind her ... (Read More)own business. She is a laid back, quiet young lady. She is around 4 1/2 years old giving her the birthday of 1/15/10. She weighs about 45 lbs. and could lose a little weight. Sable is ready and waiting for that special family to call her own. (Less)
