    Jake can't get you a great deal on auto insurance and he doesn't wear khakis but he is a total catch! He is a gorgeous 12-18 month old Basset hound/ blue tick beagle mix. He is approximately 46 pounds of short, stumpy cuteness! Jake greets new people and dog friends with enthusiasm and doesn't know the meaning of the word stranger. He has great manners with other dogs, make and female. He could probably live in a home with a large or scrappy cat that will remind him to mind his manners but he might like to chase a cat outdoors.     Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Tennessee if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
