I have found a basset hound, no one responded to any of my ads about him. I can not keep him. He is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has no internal parasites. He does have a skin tag under his chin that will need to be removed, and at some point he will have to have an eye removed due to glaucoma.

This is Gizmo. She is about 35 lbs and is a Bassett Hound/ Labrador mix. Gizmo is an unusual looking dog, she is very low to the ground and her body is stout. Her face is the face of a Lab. She is very sweet and lovable and a great cuddle buddy!. Her coloring is a beautiful Butterscotch, Gizmo would make a perfect childs dog, because she has short legs and she is big enough for a child to play with. Gizmo is just at a year old and needs a family with children to adopt her! She is spayed and current on all vaccines and preventatives. Great dog!

Basset Hound    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buck is our very special dog we have had since he was 6 weeks old. We love him very very much. However, Buck is not getting along with our new baby. We have given it 6 months to see if it would improve but it has not. Buck has 3 other doggie brother and sisters and they get along fine. He is a very special dog who is a huge lap dog! We need to find him a home where he will be loved and cared for appropriately. Unfortunately Buck is epilleptic as well and needs phenobarbital via one pill twice daily. We are willing to pay someone who will be the best care giver for Buck. He is a wonderful boy and needs a loving home ASAP.

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bob was found as a stray. We think Bob is 4 years old, so he has a birthday of 7/10/08. He weighs around 30 lbs. He could probably lose a couple of pounds and never miss them. We are not sure what breed Bob is but he appears to have some Bassett traits. He gets along with cats and other dogs. He is leash trained. Bob seems to have a very laid back attitude. Bob is a funny little guy. He will take his stuffed animals or his treats and hide them to find later. Bob is ready to find him a family of his own.

Rescue Me ID: 13-03-06-00349Baxter (male)

Basset Hound    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baxter is a sweetheart and has been my baby since he was 8 weeks old. Due to unfortunate events I am just no longer able to give him the time and attention as well as monetary care that he deserves. This has been a long considered, hard decision to come to but I feel like I need to do what is best for him. He is so sweet and so good and he deserves a home where he will be spoiled and loved like crazy. I will not let him go to any other kind of home. The other dog, Emma, behind him in the picture is also listed for adoption. They have been together since they were a year old. I had another female who we lost about a year ago. I would ... (Read More)prefer that the two of them stay together if possible. I think they would grieve if they were separated and it might make their transition a little easier. At Baxter's recent visit to the vet they found a lump on his left shoulder which they said needs to be removed ASAP but I do not have the money to do this. Only those with a lot of love to give need apply. Thank you! (Less)

Basset Hound    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Emma is a sweet girl. She is one of two that I have. They are both up for adoption. His name is Baxter. I would love to be able to keep them together if possible. They have been together since they were a year old. They are now eleven. Occasionally she gets a little territorial toward other dogs but is only bark, no bite. She is extremely well behaved to ride in the car and go places. She loves to be loved on and is good with kids, playful and lovable. I have had her since she was a year old. Adopted her from family who could no longer keep her. I hate to give her up but have had a life altering event that has made it very ... (Read More)difficult for me to give her the time and attention as well as the monetary care necessary. She deserves a good home who will spoil her with a lot of love. I will only let her go to such a home. (Less)
