Rescue Me ID: 14-04-12-00439Scruffy (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This adorable little guy is Scruffy. He is young and playful. He is an expert at engaging other dogs in play and would love dog parks. He would do well with an active family that are part time couch potatoes. He settles nicely indoors and loves to cuddle next to his people. He is medium energy and will need a fenced yard or trips to the dog park or plenty of leash walking. He is very friendly and likes everyone. Great with kids, visitors, cats and strangers. He is house trained, crate trained, knows sit and lay down and is good on a leash, knows leave it and off. He is a very smart dog who likes to please. Although he looks a bit like a ... (Read More)schnauzer, he's not. He was actually the star of a local 'Guess my Breed' contest. We then had a DNA test done and the guess of Chihuahua came closest. So much for looks. He also has some basset hound and affenpinscher. His hair is pretty soft but a little wire hair feel. He has a gray stripe on his head that he lets you comb up into a mohawk and looks so funny. He is very flashy with mostly white with black and a few areas of gray. He has the most expressive eyes. He looks up at you like 'I absolutely adore you.' He weighs about 30 pounds, is about two years old in Feb. 2014. He is neutered and fully vaccinated and ready to become part of one lucky family. (Less)

Meet Little Dude a Bassett mix. We think he is a little over a year old and around 30 pounds of high energy sugar!! He was rescued from almost being ran over at an intersection. After a lot of searching, his owners were never found. In the mean time he has been in foster care and is fully vetted. Little Dude is such a cool dog! Anyone would be lucky to be his owner. He is great on leash and is crate trained. He is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. I would suggest older kids due to his energy level. He might knock a small one over. Little Dude loves to run and play with other dogs. He mastered the doggie door with no problems. I think he ... (Read More)would be fairly easy to house train. He is high energy and need a secure place to run or has to be walked daily!! He really like to go for his walks and can be vocal if he does not get to go for them. He enjoys them so much. His foster mom loves watching him explore everything with excitement! Little dude has to stop and notice everything he sees. He will follow his nose so he MUST have a fenced yard. If he gets loose he might take off following his nose and get lost. We think that is what happened at his other home. Little Dude loves people and attention. He has got a lot of character and will make someone a great companion. (Less)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Bob was found as a stray. We think Bob is 4 years old, so he has a birthday of 7/10/08. He weighs around 30 lbs. He could probably lose a couple of pounds and never miss them. We are not sure what breed Bob is but he appears to have some Bassett traits. He gets along with cats and other dogs. He is leash trained. Bob seems to have a very laid back attitude. Bob is a funny little guy. He will take his stuffed animals or his treats and hide them to find later. Bob is ready to find him a family of his own.
