Rescue Me ID: 18-01-04-00345Mr. Hobbs (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi there, Mr. Hobbs here. Boy do I have a story to tell! I was on the street for a very long time, and it was rough. You can see by my scars and by my right ... (Read More)ear that the street is a dangerous place for a dog like me. Four days before Christmas, I got picked up by the doggy police and taken to the county shelter. It was loud and scary, but I kept a stiff upper lip and used my puppy dog eyes to catch the attention of the shelter volunteers, who worked really hard to find a family to adopt me or a rescue to take me in. Right after Christmas, they found a family who said they wanted to adopt me, and I was so excited! But then, on New Year's Eve that family decided they didn't want me as their forever friend, and I was back to square one and living on borrowed time - most dogs don't get to stay in the shelter for 10 days before making their last long walk %81 But then a miracle happened! My foster mom came to get me on New Year's Eve when she heard I was no longer getting adopted, and now I'm a K-9 Angel! I got a bath and it felt SO good! I got my own crate, doggy bed and blanket, and I made two new friends, who are the resident dogs at my foster home. I like to play with them, sleep with them, and just hang out enjoying the warmth of being inside a home with a family instead of alone on the cold, scary street. And I learned that I really love squeaky toys and treats! I've also learned that I'm very curious of cats and don't like to leave them alone so I would do best in a home without cats. I'm very submissive with people and dogs, and so far I haven't shown my family if I can bark. I have learned how to use the doggy door (maybe I knew how? If I had a family, it was a long time ago, and I just can't remember). Anyway, I've not had any accidents in the house. Yay for me! There's more to my story that I'd love to tell you, and I really want to learn everything about you! Why don't you meet me at the K-9 Angels Rescue adoption center on Saturday or Sunday, and let's get to know each other. I'll be waiting patiently for you! Mr. Hobbs is a Male Basset Hound / American Bulldog Mix that we estimate to be around 3 years old and weighs 51 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: (Less)

Animal ID: DHHansi (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Hansi, and I'm just the friendliest, cutest 35-pound blue merle Bassett Hound/ Bluetick Coonhound mix gal who was born in November 2009. I'm a total sweetheart who loves hanging out with my people. I'm best with adults and older children; honestly, the young grandkids made me a bit nervous. I'm fine with dogs who are at least my size or larger, but I probably shouldn't be added to a home with a smaller dog because I may try to dominate the little tyke. Incidentally, I've never been around cats except from behind a fence. Nothing thrills me more than hunting for the birds and squirrels in the back yard -- and sometimes ... (Read More)I catch them! I could very likely be trained for hunting if you like that sort of thing. I guess you're wondering why I need to find a new home. Well, I was adopted from Buster's Friends in 2010 by a couple who now are moving to a retirement home, and the new place doesn't allow pets. No worries, I know there's a new family out there who is made to order for an adorable, loving girl like me. I'm in perfect health, so there's no stopping you from coming by to meet me today! Hansi is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Hansi, and we can arrange for you to meet her. To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at First save and then open it; then you can print it and fill it out. (Less)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dublin loves the great outdoors. He enjoys walks and sniffing out all the exciting scents in the yard. He is slower to warm up to males and would do best in a home with older children only. At his previous house the neighborhood kids taunted and abused him in the yard where he was left- he is a bit untrusting of children now. He was born in February of 2015. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, insurance for 30 days, one free veterinary visit, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided
