Do you know anyone that might want to have this sweet boy in their family? We have 3 dogs already and we have room in our heart for him, but not in our home. He's a Shar Pei/Basset Hound mix. Pedigree papers, 1 1/2 years old, 35 lbs. He is so loveable, cute personality, and fun. He is good with kids and other pets. We want someone to love him as much as we do.

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-03-00071Jordan (female)
Jordan was found living on the streets of Dallas with her boyfriend; and two puppies. When she arrived at her foster home it was clear she had never been inside a house. Collars and leashes were foreign to her as were friendly humans and regular meals. She was very shy. However, Jordan has really blossomed in her foster home. She loves dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves her foster family. She is a sweet soul who spent most of her life protecting her puppies on the tough streets. Jordan is crate trained and house trained. She is still a bit shy when leaving the safety of her backyard. Jordan's tail never stops wagging. She's looking for a forever family to continue showing her this world isn't a bad place. Jordan is currently in a foster home in Frisco, Texas. She was born in October of 2014. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, insurance for 30 days, one free veterinary visit, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-01-00416Dublin (male)
Dublin loves the great outdoors. He enjoys walks and sniffing out all the exciting scents in the yard. He is slower to warm up to males and would do best in a home with older children only. At his previous house the neighborhood kids taunted and abused him in the yard where he was left- he is a bit untrusting of children now. He was born in February of 2015. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, insurance for 30 days, one free veterinary visit, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided

This is one cute guy. He's very lovable. His family broke up and couldn't keep him. He's definitely a unique looking guy. He has a 'brother' that was surrendered to the shelter with him. They are together in foster care.

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-10-00522Joni (female)
Joni is so good with other dogs. She loves to wrestle, chase and play. She does best with sweet, playful dogs that show no aggression. She probably would do better with smaller dogs than herself. She does not like fences and tends to fence fight, even if she knows and likes the dog next door. Joni also doesn't really like a crate. We crate her in our bedroom next to us at night. She can have blankets and soft things in her crate, as long as she is with us. When we have to leave during the day, we remove all her blankets. Joni's an easy walker. She would do great in a home where someone is around all day, since she loves her people. She's even great - and gentle - with kids. Everyone who meets Joni loves her. We're hoping she gets adopted this weekend and get to show her new family just how great of a dog she really is! Joni is a Female Basset Hound / Pit Bull Mix that we estimate to be born around June 1, 2015 and weighs 44 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Basset Hound in Texas
Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
