|Rescue Me ID: 17-05-22-00316Penny (female)|
I saved Penny off Craigslist. She had been severely starved & her ribs had been previously broken from abuse. I took her to the vet & they said her ribs healed on their own. She has registration papers that will come with her. She is 8 months old, great with other dogs, very loveable & loves putting her nose to work. She's a happy girl who loves to snuggle. She will be spayed the 30th & will be ready for adoption then. She is house trained when let out enough and is negative for heartworm or any other parasites. Penny is a goofy girl who loves to play, even with her own ears.

|Animal ID: 050117K1WILMA (female)|
Wilma is a real sweetheart. She is confused and unsure in the shelter, but was eager to get outside and visit for a bit. At first she was reserved and cautious, but she's just nervous about this whole shelter thing. She warmed up quickly and enjoyed just hanging out with us. She is sweet, friendly and was very good with my girls. Wilma is a sweetheart, low rider...cutest thing and incredible pictures of her on the urgent animals at the wise county animal shelter page... Her adoption fee is sponsored as well. |Rescue Me ID: 17-04-13-00018Sally (female)|
My name is Sally and I really like going on adventures! The people at MJ had tried to catch me for two weeks but never could, do you know why? They weren't offering me BBQ like these nice people did at this local restaurant! For the longest time everyone thought I was scared of people but I'm actually just really nervous around cars! I'm the sweetest girl you'll ever meet though and I'm really relaxed and mellow! Come see me! I know you'll love me.

|Rescue Me ID: 17-02-10-00522Joni (female)|
Joni is so good with other dogs. She loves to wrestle, chase and play. She does best with sweet, playful dogs that show no aggression. She probably would do better with smaller dogs than herself. She does not like fences and tends to fence fight, even if she knows and likes the dog next door. Joni also doesn't really like a crate. We crate her in our bedroom next to us at night. She can have blankets and soft things in her crate, as long as she is with us. When we have to leave during the day, we remove all her blankets. Joni's an easy walker. She would do great in a home where someone is around all day, since she loves her people. She's even great - and gentle - with kids. Everyone who meets Joni loves her. We're hoping she gets adopted this weekend and get to show her new family just how great of a dog she really is! Joni is a Female Basset Hound / Pit Bull Mix that we estimate to be born around June 1, 2015 and weighs 44 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! (Less)

|Animal ID: 17121 BoardingDozer (male)|
Dozer 17121 is one of the cutest dogs you will ever see. He appears to be a mix of Pit Bull Terrier and Basset Hound! He has short, stout little legs with feet that bow out like a Basset but his head is all Pitty! He has an amazingly sweet personality, and plays great with other dogs. He plays terrifically with the puppies currently at the shelter when they are in the play yard together. He is young, too, maybe around a year or so, and is a compact little guy. One of the ACOs called him a little bulldozer, hence the name, Dozer. With his unique looks and great personality, we hope he will find his fur-ever home soon. Dozer is almost finished with his heartworm treatment and he is ready for a new home and a new start in life!! He loves people-big and small!!! Please consider giving Dozer the home and family he so desperately desires!! He is neutered and vaccinated! Currently in boarding! Contact Steffenie at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information! Pit Bulls/Staffordshire Terriers/bully breeds cannot be adopted to renters--home owners only! Home visit required! (Less)

Boomer is a 3 year old Bassett Hound mix that was found abandoned and neglected in Pearland and it is suspected that he was dumped. He was wondering the streets trying to find food and trying to survive. He is sweet, good with dogs, children, but not too fond of the kitties. He is crate trained, although good to be left out of a crate, good on a leash, and potty trained. Boomer is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations including rabies and microchipped. Boomer did test positive for Heartworm disease but he has already been started on Slow Kill treatment and should be Negative once treatment is completed. |Rescue Me ID: 16-05-18-00143Checkers (male)|
Checkers is a very sweet senior Basset Hound mix that we pulled from the dog pound. Checkers is approximately 9 years young. He is active and playful X-rays and blood work show that he is a healthy dog. Checkers is a slight positive for heart worms - which means he only needs his regular monthly heart worm pill and he will eventually be heart worm free. Checkers loves to eat so he is very over weight and must loose the weight through diet and exercise. Checkers must have a home where he is as a loved member of the family. He does like to be outside during the day so he needs a secure yard where he can run and play. Checkers is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is current on heartworm and flea preventative. Checkers has a $60.00 adoption fee. Please contact Marianne at 2 Many Dogs if you are interested in meeting this sweet boy. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Basset Hound in Texas|
Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
