Rescue Me ID: 18-03-31-00227Bella (female)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Bella is a lump of sugar. She is a senior Beagle - guessing 9-11 years old. The little chunker weighs in at about 32 pounds. Bella loves everyone. The bulk of her life was not the best, she was undoubtedly a neglected outside dog. She was found just a couple of years ago, middle of winter, about to give birth to puppies in a ditch next to the road. After her puppies were born and she was spayed and vaccinated, she got to be the loved princess of a sweet older lady. Sadly, her adoptive mommy passed away. Bella is now fostered in my home with lots of dogs and cats. She is playful, cuddly, sweet and adorable. She has great house and ... (Read More)leash manners. She is not destructive at all, and will potty outside as long as she is given the opportunity. Bella wants a home where she will be someone's velcro dog. Another pet sibling would be helpful, but she wants to be with her person or family as much as possible. A home where she would be alone most of the time would NOT be the fit. A fenced in yard is a must. If interested in being the final forever home for precious Bella, please contact Bev at 804-248-3042 or (Less)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Senior

I am a lovely senior gentleman. I am good with older, considerate children who won't pull on my ears. I love my walks!!%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0I can be walked off leash and will stay by your side, but I am learning to walk on a leash while I am at WAAAG. With a slow introduction I am good with other dogs. I love to cuddle, have my back, belly and rear legs rubbed and if you find my favorite spot, I'll move my legs like Thumper! If you have room on your sofa, I'm your guy :-) Shelby and Rocco are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their former owner had to give up these precious babies due to allergies. Since being at WAAAG ... (Read More)we have found that their love for each other is inspiring! On a walk together, Shelby will often turn back to Rocco to gently nudge him with her nose. She makes sure he is still coming and doing ok. And they keep up a spirited pace! There is never a cross word between these two. They willingly share toys, beds and cookies. They get comfort from physically being close to each other and get upset when they have to be separated (such as at the vet's office to get nails trimmed%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD) Rocco taught Shelby as a pup and now Shelby looks out for Rocco as her big brother in his golden years. Through thick and thin and the changes in their lives these two will soldier on together. Shelby and Rocco should be the only dogs in the household.%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0The reason for this it that%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0we feel that it be difficult for existing dogs to accept a bonded pair. Rocco's adoption fee has been covered by a generous sponsor who only wants to see these 2 sweethearts stay together in their forever home. (Less)

Hi! My name is Scrooge and I am approximately 8 years old and weigh about 18 lbs. I am a country gentleman who is friendly but a little nervous if someone moves too quickly around me. Unlike my name, I am not a bah, humbug kind of guy. I love snuggling up in a warm cozy spot on a cold winter day and appreciate all the kind attention and love that come my way. I am currently fostered in King William, VA and in search of my forever home.
