Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This happy guy is sweet, affectionate, and likes attention. Bodie is very cute with the short legs and long body of a Basset and a Lab head. He is about 1 year old and weighs 33 lbs. While he is an adult, Bodie is still in puppy mode. He loves to play, play, play. Bodie is great with other dogs. He is fine with cats, but might chase them if they run. Bodie needs a refresher course in house manners, leash walking, and basic obedience. To drain his excess energy, Bodie needs daily walks/playtime or dog park visits. Are you the active person or family who can give him the additional training and daily exercise he requires? Please give him a ... (Read More)loving forever home. Basset Hound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The volunteers say I am Charming Charlie because I'm a kissing love bug. But, you can call me CC for short. And, who wouldn't be charmed by a Chocolate Lab/Basset mix boy? What a wonderful combination and temperament. I am super friendly, outgoing and good-natured. Hey, I love everyone--children, adults, other dogs. A perfect family dog to share your life and adventures. How I adore playing, going for long walks and running. I may be only part Lab, but that part needs exercise. Whatever you enjoy doing, take me along. I am social. Hope you like cuddling because I am also great at that. I'm healthy with the most beautiful coat and a precious ... (Read More)face. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-25-00889Rerun (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rerun was found in a ditch on the side of a road in Mechanicsville; he was lifeless, all of 11 lbs and literally a feeding ground for the mammoth sized fleas crawling in and out of his eyes. I took him home to clean him up, feed him, and give him a warm place to die in dignity, but he survived the night. I decided if he was going to fight for his life, the least I could do was get him medical attention. The vet addressed the immediate concerns which were Sarcoptic Mange, Hookworm, flea and tick infestations and heart worm testing. After 14 days of antibiotics he came into the care of the MAPR vets who discovered the need for immediate ... (Read More)surgery on a hernia. Upon X-raying the area in his abdomen, the injury was in the shape of a boot that leads us to believe it was due to blunt force trauma. His intestines were leaking into his body. They also found two puncture wounds on his hind leg that would not heal. Upon further inspection they found a tooth imbedded into his leg. He spent three months in a large crate on bed rest due to the heart worm treatments and 2 months in an XL cone. Today, he is full of life and love. Mornings are his favorite and he loves to sit by the bed and just wait for me to wake up. He then runs in circles and bounces around to head outside and explore the yard. He still has a feverish appetite and has become a little sneaky goofball. He is always playing some prank around the house, climbing in grocery paper bags or getting stuck under the bed. His favorite things are the sun, a warm porch, a warm lap/couch, and a friendly back scratch. He is extremely low key and is truly looking for his lifetime partner in crime. Big Dogs tend to make him nervous and fearful, so he will not be adopted to a home with large dogs. He does fine with small dogs (Less)
