|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-11-00128Emmett (male)|
Emmett is a male Basset Hound/Dachshund Cross, approx. 13 months as of March 2015; weight, roughly 30 lbs. Emmett, came to us from a reservation in S.D. where he was surrendered to the LightShine Rescue Group whom we have been working with. Emmett was suffering from Demodex (which we are treating him for) but otherwise appears to be healthy. He is a sweet little guy who was very lucky that LightShine was there at that particular time or he very well might have lost his life to euthanasia. Emmett is ready to go with vaccinations up-to-date and he has been altered - could he be the one for you? Please visit our website (www.ggohinc.com) for further information on our Fencing and Indoor Living policies as well as information regarding our adoption process. (Less)

Basset Hound Dogs can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. The Basset Hound is an exceptionally gentle, friendly dog that makes a great family pet. Basset Hounds are great with children. They require some patience to housebreak. Basset Hounds can do tricks, especially for treats. If overfed, a Basset Hound can quickly put on weight which strains its legs. Basset Hounds need plenty of exercise to stay healthy, but should be discouraged from jumping so as not to stress their legs. Basset Hounds can live in an apartment but need long walks and opportunities to run and play.
