I originally wanted a corgi. This dog is a mix of basset hound, corgi and shepherd. I found her on the Rescue Me's Corgi page. She was being cared for by the Thompson River Shelter. The people running this shelter are amazing. They had provided Casey with all the care she needed to get healthy for her adoption. I found Rescue Me! to be very helpful! I would recommend using it.

I posted Sadie on Rescue Me! She is a blind Basset Bound I found on a busy highway. The next morning, someone called me to help. Thanks to Rescue Me!, Sadie has a forever home five days later. I am more than happy to donate to Rescue Me! because they get results. Rescue Me! is a wonderful group, and they are there to help all breed of dogs all over the United States. Again, thank you Rescue Me!

Maggie got adopted by a wonderful couple that loves older dogs and Basset Hounds. Maggie will be loved and cared for in her elder years. Rescue Me! is a wonderful connecting source. I was helping an elderly gentlemen place his three dogs because he was no longer able to care for them. They all got wonderful homes. Thank you for this great service.

Hello, Nala was adopted by a very nice family. She's the only dog, and a house pet. Her new owner had had a Basset before, who passed away. She's getting so much love and attention. Thank you for everyone's help in finding a new home for Nala. Regards, Shereen

Sweetpea was adopted by a wonderful family Sunday. She has longed to have her very own mama and daddy to hold her and love her. Well, her wish came true Sunday. She is now being spoiled rotten with all the attention, toys and good food she gets daily. Sweetpea, you are one special dog who now has found her forever family.

Jack met his new Mom and Dad today, and instantly fell in love with his new girlfriend Bella! He was successfully adopted to a great family and made the journey to his new forever home. Rescue Me! was where his pictures and story were seen, and what sparked the interest in him from the Clayprood family! I certainly recommend any groups or individuals looking to help find a pet a forever home to post a picture and story on the Rescue Me site! Thanks!

With the help of Rescue Me!, I was able to find my beloved Basset Bubbles a new home. I originally rescued Bubbles myself from the SPCA and adopted him. However unforeseen events have led my family and I to relocate to a smaller property where Bubbles would not have the space he needs. After posting on Rescue Me! I received numerous responses that allowed me to find a great home and family for Bubbles. His new home is out on a farm with 5-acres of land and 3 other Bassets! Thank you, Rescue Me!

This wonderful basset hound/corgi mix has found a new forever home as of yesterday. They really fell in love with him and he fits in perfect with their family. Thanks Rescue Me! for helping find Corky a home. I had him since November and I kept him from going to a high kill shelter!

Albert was released by me into the arms of a lovely family. Although it was difficult to give this sweet guy up, I feel confident that he has a loving home to retire to. He met his new brother, Charlie the Irish Setter, just this afternoon and they were polite to each other right from the start. I can see that Albert will be smothered with hugs and tickles by his new two legged sisters. Albert is not perfect, but none of us are, so I am glad he is joining a 'dog' family. People with experience, older children and gentle pets. Thank you Rescue Me!, you are truly a dogs best friend when they are in need of a new home and family. I will be donating to your efforts as soon as I recover from the Holidays. A million thanks and warm wishes to you.

WOW!....That's all I can muster right now!! I got involved in this situation kind of 3rd, 4th, or even 5th party, and after hearing the story, the challenges, and that we had less than 48hrs to change this precious girl's life (and, most likely, SAVE her life), I admit that I was skeptical and fearful. I literally stayed up ALL night creating, posting, searching, linking, emailing, and pleading to anyone, and everyone, who was notably associated with Basset/Senior/Handicapped dogs, from Coast to Coast...all the while, I got more and more worried that it was too late - that we didn't have enough time to help a 'special' orphan - that I failed... But then, like a symphony, my Blackberry email alert started sounding; and it kept sounding, over and over and over!! It seems that no less than 6 people/orgs were replying back to the email that I had sent by using the Rescue Me Email tool; an email that I sent via links I found using the Rescue Me 'Animal Rescue Group' search tools, no less!!!! It's an email, and an effort, that truly never would have existed if not for RescueMe.Org!! About her: She's a dog that I have not yet met, do not know the name of, & have no 'real' connection to; she's a dog that is at least 10 years old and is blind in one eye; she's a dog that had less than 48hrs left before the City Agency was going to seize her; and she's a dog, that for all intent and purpose, really didn't have much in her favor to even suggest that she was going to 'be okay' - or so it appeared.... BUT THEN, in an hour's time, she became a dog that is going to be successfully rescued by House of Puddles, in Maryland! (by the way, did I mention we're in Texas?!?!? lol); and she became a dog with a future, and hopes, that her Forever Family will soon find her there!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, RescueMe.Org & Jeff Gold; I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! I wholeheartedly support you, I am making a small donation to you, and I am going to tell everyone I know about you!!! God Bless! Gratefully, Kathleen Corazzo

Carolina (Lady) followed our grandson home from the mailbox. She was covered in fleas and so underfed that you could see every bone! Thank you Rescue Me for sending her an Angel. He saw her on this site and fell in love with her. He had just lost his Basset Hound Sadie in January. Carolina had fit right in with her new sister Daisy. They play for hours. David even let's her sleep in his bed! Thanks, for taking Carolina and giving her a loving home!

Blackie was adopted by a young girl in Jacksonville, Florida. Thanks to Rescue Me, her new mom was able to find this sweetie. It turned out that her adopter loved bassetts and labs, how perfect was that!

Taro was transferred to a lab rescue, 'For The Love Of Labs.' Rescue Me was instrumental in finding homes for her 7 siblings and this helped fund Taros vetting so she could go to a national lab rescue and the hopes of finding a loving furr-ever home which is far from the trash dump that her mom was left in while pregnant with Taro and her siblings.

Thank you so much for creating Rescue Me! After 100 personal emails and no resolution, I found your website... I received a call from a willing, potential adoptive family within 1/2 hour of posting the ad with the picture. I will be visiting her home soon and hopefully will be placing 'Lucy' in her home with 4 other canine friendships to be formed. I simply love that you created this website for God to work through. I believe this will be Lucy's new home. Will let you know when confirmed. Thank you so much, Suzette La Russa

I love your site, and have posted a few of your dogs listed on my Facebook page. Anyway, I have Miss Lula who joined Sporty my cat and Lucy my Lab. She has been home a while and now sleeping on the couch. Miss Lula has heartworms but is being treated, her past owner was wonderful just paying for a surgery before adoption instead of putting her to sleep. Lula is my second Basset and she is a blessing to me. Thank you so much for Rescue Me! and I will keep up with posting some on my Facebook page. Theresa

Dear Jeff, After losing our third beloved Basset Hound to cancer last summer, we were ready to start looking at the option of another member of our family. I had searched online for several weeks and none of the options seemed to fit. This lovely lady tricolor Basset was recently posted on your site. She was really an owner relinquishment at this point after having been rescued from Craigslist a little over a year ago. After email contact with her present owner, we made arrangements to meet last night... and the rest is documented in the pictures attached to this note! :) I am sure we will all have to make some adjustments, but she is well on her way to becoming the pampered beauty she deserves to be! Thank you! Catherine

I posted our baby girl, BonnieSue on 3/21, got 2 hits within hours, and happily, on 3/23, we found the perfect family for her! Bonnie had been rescued, as I like to call it, from a life of sadness having to live outside year round with no family interaction! We had her for 1 1/2 years, to be my husband's dog, but from day one, for some unknown reason, she was never comfortable around him, always barking and growling at him when he entered a room. She never did this with any other men, so after long, painful reevaluating, we made the difficult decision to give her up. I am so very happy that she is in a loving home, making friends with the other pets in the family. The family has already sent me pictures of her being loved on. This affirms that I chose the right place for her and that all my love to her was not in vain. I know she will have a good life. Thank you for allowing me to post her adoption success story.

Dear Mr. Gold: I would like this opportunity to thank you for your work and for your wonderful website. I posted 'Peppers' on Sunday afternoon and by Sunday night I had two families interested in giving her a home. I am in the process of making transfer arrangements with 'Peppers' new owners. In the future, if I hear of someone who wants to adopt an animal or needs to find a new home for one, I will definitely tell them about your site. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU and Peppers thanks you, too. Sincerely, Doni

Daisie was adopted. I thank you so much for 'rescue me'. Within hours after posting Daisie, our bassett hound - I received numerous phone calls and emails inquiring about her. The website reached out to the different shelters and dog clubs. I spoke with a very nice lady, Betsy, who was with a local Bassett Hound club. She assured me that they will find someone that could adopt Daisie. And they did. I received a phone call from someone wanting to adopt her and they lived less than 2 miles from my home. We got together and they are the nicest people and Daisie is happy. I will make a donation and I will refer anyone to use the website. We also have a terrier listed and I have received phone calls and emails on her, too. This next weekend, we are meeting some people that would like to meet Addie, too. This has been very emotional for me and my family - but, rescue me put us in touch with the right people. Thank you. I thank God that there are people in this world so kind and generous to our animals. Thank you. Maryjo G.

Hi Jeff, Gator did find a home and I couldn't be happier. I like most Americans have fallen on hard times and I am being foreclosed on which leaves my housing up in the air. Not only losing my home but my friend, Gator has been so difficult. I fortunately found a lovely couple willing to give Gator a home. Thank you for your website and when I get on my feet I will make a donation to Rescue Me. Thank you very much! Sincerely, Kerri
